Adair Co. Band: The Beat Goes On

By Amber Hobaugh

This past weekend, the Adair County High School Marching Band traveled to Warren Central High School in Bowling Green to compete in the Class 3A West Region Quarterfinals.

The group competed against 12 of the top ensembles in the region which included bands By Butler, Warren East, Taylor, Apollo, Breckinridge, Marshall, Franklin-Simpson, Warren Central, LaRue, Hopkinsville, Murray and Elizabethtown High Schools.

As awards were presented, Adair County was named as one of the top six finalists who will be advancing to the KMEA State Semi-Finals competition in Elizabethtown. The group will take the field at approximately 10:45amCT/11:45amET on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Elizabethtown High School, 620 N Mulberry St, Elizabethtown, KY.

This week is known as a very mentally and physically trying time for the students as they make their final stride towards advancing to State Competition which will also be held on October 26, 2024. Boosters for the organization are humbly asking for the Community's support this week in order to help boost morale, encourage and support these students. Some examples of how local businesses and citizens can assist include: Displaying signs of encouragement, hanging blue, black and silver ribbons or balloons and cheering them on as they aim for success. Additionally, if you know a band student personally; they appreciate many other smaller gestures such as: a hug, a kind word, or some little memento to let them know that you are thinking of them and support all of their hard work and dedication.

Eyes with Pride Adair County Marching Band, Columbia Magazine is wishing you the very Best of Luck as you wrap up this 2024 Marching season!
