New Adair Fiscal Court Clerk Amy Pike

Amy Pike, second from right, is the new Adair County Fiscal Court Clerk replacing former clerk Beth Cole who resigned on September 20, 2024. Magistrates unanimously agreed to hire her at the same pay rate of $250 per month.

New Adair Sheriff and Jailer sworn in

New officials were sworn in Tuesday morning by Adair County Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant, at right. Jamie Richard, second from left, is the newly sworn in Sheriff and Buddy Powell, second from right, was sworn in as the new Jailer. Deputy Jason Camfield, at left, has accepted a job in Shepherdsville, KY law enforcement but volunteered to stay and help Sheriff Richard get underway.

Deputy Gary Roy makes appeal to Fiscal Court

Deputy Gary Roy, center, made a heartfelt appeal to Fiscal Court at Tuesday night's meeting. He made the point that citizens do not care if the Judge and Magistrates dislike each other, this issue at hand is about the Adair County Sheriff's Department. He said continuing the way it has been could result in something like what happened in Russell County last week. He said Fiscal Court had the perfect opportunity to show appreciation for the officers - thanking Magistrate Chris Reeder for putting together a proposal for a $5 hour raise for Deputies. Pictured standing in the center with Deputy Roy are Deputies Brandon Hicks, and newly hired Deputy Emily Wall. The proposal was voted in unanimously.
