Soccer: LWC shuts out WVU Tech 2-0 on the road

Beckley, WV - Lindsey Wilson men's soccer secured a 2-0 victory over WVU Tech on Thursday night at Paul Cline Memorial Sports Complex.

Michael Rempel opened the scoring for the Blue Raiders (2-4-2) in the 14th minute with a well-placed penalty shot. Dominic Ayella added the second goal in the 64th minute, assisted by Juliano Manfro, to secure the win.

Lindsey Wilson dominated the match, outshooting WVU Tech (1-3-2) 10-1, including a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Blue Raiders also earned eight corner kicks to WVU Tech's two.

Despite a quiet night on offense, the Golden Bears had two players cautioned, and Lindsey Wilson received one team warning. Blue Raiders goalkeeper Hugo Georges made one save to keep the clean sheet.

Lindsey Wilson will return to action on Saturday, traveling to face Shawnee State at 5pmCT.
