Burn ban begins in Edmonton, Metcalfe County

METCALFE COUNTY FISCAL COURT EXECUTIVE ORDER: all outdoor burning is hereby banned in Metcalfe County

WHEREAS, drought conditions in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, have made it dangerous to have any form of outdoor burning, and the danger is imminent and irreparable harm might result from any delay, be it ordered and adjudged by the Metcalfe County Judge/Executive that all outdoor burning is hereby banned in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, until further notice.

This be it further ordered that this order may be enforced by the Kentucky Forestry Department, any official police department, rescue worker, fire department or any other person of authority who may receive evidence as to outdoor burning herein, and


BE IT FURTHER ordered and adjudged that anyone caught setting and/or maintaining an outdoor fire pursuant to the appropriate Kentucky Revised Statute and shall further be sited to the Metcalfe County District Court for enforcement of said fines and/or punishment.

This is an Emergency Order, with no just cause for delay, which shall become into effect immediate upon execution herein, this 16th day of September, 2024.
