RCE Homemakers off to great start

From Sue Foley

Russell County Extension Homemakers are having a great start to our new year which started July 1, 2024. We've issued $500.00 of our $1000.00 scholarship for 2024. We've planned some community service projects for the next 2 months:
  1. Food pantry items
  2. Goodie bags for the Veterans at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Veteran's Day event
  3. Items for Warm the Children
Fundraiser Events:

  1. Rada Products order can be made on line: Google https://radafundraising.com?rfsn=7639260.e528e8 then take left hand drop down and click on suppost a new fundraiser. Enter Russell County Extension Homemakers.
  2. Pecans (1 pound bag pieces $12.00, 1 pound bag halves $15.00). Contact any Homemakers for information. They will also be available at the BPW Vendors Market on November 23.
Each of our five Russell County Extension Homemaker groups have been busy:
  • Homemakers On The Go met and planned several months of trips and activities. Their first trip will be to the Whippoorwill Diner in Nancy and on to Haney's Appledale Farm.
  • Sunset Club has had lessons on taking pictures and framing pictures.
  • Crafty Bee's have enjoyed a class on Diamond Art with an upcoming class on learning macrame.
  • Homemakers By Heart had a glass painting class and have an upcoming class on learning how to crochet
  • Piecemakers have been working on a quilted wall hanging for the Russell County Hospital.
Lots of exciting things happening with the Russell County Extension Homemakers. Come join us for fun, laughs, socializing, learning different things and community service projects! Also, Russell County Extension Service - FCS (activities from cooking, crafts and various other events)
