KSP: 14-year-old female arrested for school threat

From Trooper Jonathan Houk

Lebanon, KY - On the morning of Sept. 10, 2024, the Lebanon Police Department contacted the Kentucky State Police Post 15 and requested investigative assistance with a threat to the Marion County High School. School administration received notification of a threat to the school that was sent to a student via text message.

As a result of an extensive investigation, KSP Troopers have charged a 14-year-old female juvenile with Terroristic Threatening, 1st degree. The juvenile has been arrested and transported to a juvenile detention center. The case remains under investigation by Detective Dexter Colvin. KSP was assisted by the Lebanon Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Kentucky State Police thoroughly investigates all reported threats of school violence regardless of context or intent. Troopers urge parents to have a conversation with their children about the dangers of posting threatening messages on social media and reporting any concerning information they may come across online.
