Lanterns & Tombstones Tour this Friday, Sept 6

The final installment of the Lanterns & Tombstones Tour for the year 2024 will take place at 7pmCT this Friday, September 6, 2024. The Tour will form at the edge of the Judicial Center parking area at Merchant and Monroe Streets, and will proceed up the drive to the Historic Cemetery. We will return to the same location.

Mike Watson and Dave Thomas lead a guided tour through the historic cemetery on the first Friday evening of each month, April through September. A brief history of the cemetery is given and each tour visits different residents of the Silent City, which dates to about 1810. Come out to the last tour of the season.

We will also be giving information on the Annual Silent City Tour that will feature several presenters scattered through the cemetery that will take place on Monday, October 14, 2024. Also the "Shot, Stabbed, Hanged & More" Tour of the Columbia Public Square is scheduled for Friday, October 25, 2024.
