Dolene Hoover, 95, Russell County, KY (1929-2024) Dolene Hoover, of Russell Springs, passed away Friday evening, August 30, 2024, at Fair Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Jamestown, having attained the age of 95 years, 4 months and 15 days. She was born April 15, 1929, at home in Adair County, daughter of the late John Tyler and Nettie Grider Atchley. She married William "Oscar" Hoover on October 27, 1947. Two sons were born to their union. She was a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved to cook. She is survived by her two sons, Kendell (and Ruth) Hoover and Wendell Hoover (and Saundra), both of Russell Springs; her brothers, Claude Atchley, of Burkesville, and Eugene (and Lora Lynn) Atchley, of Columbia; her sisters, Brenda (and Herbert) Veatch, of Campbellsville, Shirley Reliford, of Columbia, and Emma Sullivan, of Liberty; her grandchildren, Terry (and Jodie) Hoover, Christy (and Preston) Richardson, Sherri (and Jeron) Wall, Rita (and Nick) Jones, and Scott (and Jill) Hoover; her great-grandchildren, Kenna, Kamryn, Ashten, Caleb, Hannah and Katie; and two great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, who passed away December 16, 2007; and her brother, Obie Atchley. Funeral services are 12 noon CST, Monday, September 2, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Darrell Coe officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
