CPD: Wanton endangerment arrest

The Columbia Police responded to an active domestic on Mack Street on Thursday afternoon, August 15, 2024. Upon arrival, female victim was outside the residence and advised the Officers male subject forced her outside the home and had locked himself inside with two children aged one and three.

Officers made entry into the home where contact was made with male subject. Party was subdued and taken into custody and was transported from the scene to TJ Samson Columbia where he was treated released and transported to Adair Regional Jail.


Truman 'Tyler' Kemp, 27, of Columbia is facing multiple charges including assault 4th degree domestic violence, resisting arrest, strangulation 1st degree, and three counts wanton endangerment 1st degree. The children were not harmed during the incident and remained in the custody of their mother.

Chief Evan Burton was the arresting Officer. He was assisted on scene by Officers Joey Keith, Jay Wilson and Jimmy Luttrell. Adair EMS also responded to the scene.
