James Tarter Jr, 31, Adair County, KY (1992-2024) James Houston Tarter Jr., 31, of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024. He was born September 18, 1992, to James Houston Tarter Sr. of Columbia, KY and Teresa Mae Felty Wren (Charlie) of Morgantown, KY. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Johnnie Tarter. He was of the Christian faith, enjoyed fishing, traveling, especially to the ocean, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Linnea Diane Younger Tarter of Columbia, KY; two daughters Siddalee Joanne Tarter and Lillea Jade Tarter both of Columbia, KY; a brother Brian Anthony Tarter (Deanna) niece and nephew Clayton and Payton Tarter of Beaver Dam, KY; grandmothers Betty Tarter of Columbia, KY and Bessie Howard of Oakfield, New York; two uncles Johnnie Tarter (Tammy) of Columbia, KY and Carlos Tarter of Albany, KY; mother-in-law Fransisca Thiery of Columbia, KY; Fathers-in-law Don Ralph of Columbia, KY and Michael Younger of Pikeville, KY; brother-in-law Aaron Younger; grandmother-in-law Diane Thiery of Columbia, KY. He is also survived by other loving family and friends, who meant the world to him. The family chose cremation, a memorial service will be on Friday July 12, 2024, at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 11am Friday until time for the service. In lieu of flowers the family asked to help with Siddalee & Lillea Tarter College Fund and can be left at the Funeral Home. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
