Lela Mae King, 90, Casey County, KY (1933-2024) Lela Mae Vaught King, of Liberty, died Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born in Casey County, December 23, 1933, to the late Elex and Mamie L. Reed Vaught. She was a homemaker and loved to cook, sew and do quilting. Lela attended Poplar Grove Baptist Church as a child and later, became a member of First Baptist Church of Liberty. In addition to her parents, Lela is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda King; a brother, Jack Vaught; and her sister, Irene Lane. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Wyatt Dillon (and David) of Liberty; her grandchildren, Kacey Huffaker (and Chris) of Liberty, Brendan Wyatt (and Crystal) of Liberty and Kalila Wyatt of London, KY; her great-grandchildren, Haven Grace Huffaker, Stephen Wyatt, Pamela Pylant, Beaux Knoblauch, Avery Wooten and Kacey Wooten; her brother, Darrell Vaught of Hustonville; and her sisters, Velma Cochran of Liberty, Shirley Turpin of Indianapolis, IN and Emma Rains (and Don) of Cincinnati, OH. Graveside services will be 3pmET Monday, July 1, 2024, at Poplar Grove Cemetery, Liberty, KY with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
