Randall L. Banks, 74, Columbia, KY (1950-2024)

Randall Lee Banks of Columbia died on Saturday, June 8, 2024. He was 74 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amCT on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in Columbia Cemetery.

Visitation is requested on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5pmCT until 8pmCT, and on Wednesday until time for the service.


He was born April 7, 1950 in Adair County to the late Marion Winfrey Banks and Lois Farris Bennett Banks who survives. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Banks and an infant sister, Carolyn Sue Banks. Randall was a graduate of WKU with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and continued to be an avid Hilltopper fan. He was a member of Cane Valley Baptist Church, retired from Bank of Columbia and a lifelong farmer.

Survivors include:
  • His mother - Lois Farris Bennett Banks of Columbia
  • Two daughters - MaryEllen Purcell (Anthony) of Nicholasville and Amy Banks of Columbia
  • One sister - Betty Brockman (Bobby) of Mt. Juliet, TN
  • Three grandchildren - Matthew Purcell, Andrew Purcell and Ethan Purcell of Nicholasville
  • His former wife - Ellen Banks of Campbellsburg
  • A host of other relatives and friends
