Drowning in Green River Lake State Park

Campbellsville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a report of a person in distress in the water. Upon arrival, firefighters found that an approximately 69-year-old male subject was missing in the water and his vehicle was in the water also.

Upon arrival, firefighters began interviewing witnesses to get an approximate point last seen. Three public safety divers entered the water and began an immediate search for the subject.


Divers located the body approximately 110' from the ramp and 15' deep water, the subject was pronounced deceased by Campbellsville Taylor County EMS.

Public safety divers then began vehicle recovery operations, bringing the vehicle back to the ramp. The incident is being investigated by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement and Taylor County Coroner's Office.

Firefighters Responding: 19. Responding Apparatus: Rescue 1, Dive 3, Squad 1, Squad 2, Marine 1, Marine 2 and Chief

Assisting Agencies: Campbellsville Taylor County 911 Center, Campbellsville Taylor County, EMS, Taylor County Emergency Management, Taylor County Fire Department, Taylor County Sheriff's Department, Taylor County Coroner's Office, Ky Fish and Wildlife, D&D Towing.
