John McCloughan, 82, Green County, KY (1941-2024)

John Franklin McCloughan was born September 5, 1941, to the late Albert R. and Rose Doyle Downs McCloughan. He departed this life on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Green County, KY, having attained the age of eighty-two years, eight months, and twenty-one days of age.

John had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a founding member of the Green Hill Baptist Church. He served in The National Guard, was manager at Houchens/IGA for 14 years, was employed with TOPP'S manufacturing for 33 years, and He enjoyed woodworking during his retirement.


Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers in law: Alberta Keene and husband Robert, Sara Hoppas, and Jim Reed.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Bonnie June Warren McCloughan wed on June 1, 1963 in Akron, Indiana; four children and their spouses: Anna Givens and her husband Mark of Greensburg, Crystal Hedgespeth and her husband Sam of Campbellsville, KY, Ferol Hawkins and her husband Matthew of Munfordville, KY, and John McCloughan and his wife Nikki of Burkesville, KY ; one sister: Gloria Reed of Akron Indiana; eleven grandchildren: Justin Givens and wife Amber, Breanna Armstrong and husband Austin, Seth Hedgespeth and wife Becca, Kali Gupton and husband Cody, Dylan Hawkins, Cameron Hawkins and wife Summer, Ryann Hawkins, Landon Hawkins, Peyton Hawkins, Jordan McCloughan, and Caleb McCloughan; nine great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for John McCloughan will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 1pmCT at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with entombment to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 5pm-8pm at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jordan McCloughan, Caleb McCloughan, Landon Hawkins, Peyton Hawkins

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to The Gideons for bibles and those can be made at the funeral home.
