Multi-agency response to submerged vehicle in Knifley From Mike Keltner, Director Adair Co. Emergency Management At 20:53 on the evening of Monday, May 27, 2024, Adair County E-911 dispatched multiple response agencies to a car submerged in water in the Knifley Community of Adair County. During the initial response the exact location and the number of occupants was unknown. Breeding Fire Department TRT, Campbellsville Fire Rescue, and Adair EM responded with personnel and watercraft. Knifley Fire Department, Adair EMS, Adair Sheriff Office, and KY Dept of Fish and Wildlife responded with personnel. Columbia - Adair County Fire Department responded with the tower / ladder truck and personnel. At the same time the vehicle was located by searchers, Adair 911 received a call from the owner stating that the vehicle was unoccupied. The vehicle will have to remain in place until flood waters recede. This is a reminder to report all incidents that could cause such a response. Earlier in the day two kayaks had been lost by the owner and were reported for this very reason. Thank You to all agencies and Adair E-911 for the coordination and response.
