Phillip Wood Coffey - Dream

Oh, there has been so many sightings of Elvis
Although hear tell he's been gone since August 1977.
But how many of us have seen David Bowie, long gone
Standing on the side of Bramlett Road in their dreams?

There he was, being a country fella - picked him right up.
Said he had fell on hard times - needed a transmission repaired.
Well I said,"don't that beat all, with all that money, needing my help."
Still you be so lowly - an Englishman - driving an old junker like me.

He began giving me the 'bloody directions' where to drop him off.
Suddenly in my out of sight experience - fell asleep at the wheel.
Awaken in my dream, driving down an embankment, clear off the road.
My wife Billie saying, "wake up Phil - too much loud talking in your dreams."

I know my life will never quite be the same, meeting the Englishman in my dreams.
Many have said that he is now stardust - maybe that is what explains my dream.
