Jane DeHart, 84, Russell Springs, KY (1939-2024) Rosie Jane Zimmerman DeHart, of Russell Springs, widow of the late Hollis DeHart, beloved mother and grandmother, retired teacher and counselor, passed from this life Monday, April 15, 2024, at the home of her daughter at the age of 84. She was born November 8, 1939, in Russell County, a daughter of the late Otha Green and Synthia Elizabeth Fox Zimmerman. She was a graduate of Campbellsville University and the University of Kentucky, where she earned her Rank 1 status. She taught special education and served as a guidance counselor in the Russell County School System for over 35 years. She grew up in and was baptized into the fellowship at Square Oak Separate Baptist Church, and later moved her membership to Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Matt (and Lana) DeHart, of Russell Springs; her daughter, Lesa (and Kim) Billings, of Richmond; and her three grandchildren, Taylor (and Julia) Billings, of Shepherdsville, Evan DeHart and Nathan DeHart, both of Russell Springs. Along with her parents and her husband, Hollis, She is preceded in death by her brothers, Hubert Zimmerman, Ruzie Zimmerman, Junior Zimmerman, and Willard Zimmerman; her sisters, Maxine Stephens, Margaret Green, Kathleen Stephens, and Mary Johnson; and her grandson, Ethan "Cody" Billings. Funeral services are 2pmCT, Friday, April 19, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Bobby Conner and Bro. Dustin McGowan officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Taylor Billings, Evan DeHart, Nathan DeHart, Sovel Stephens, Wesley Burton, Travis Phillipee, Nathan Stephens and Christopher Duke. Rickey Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will begin at 11 Friday, and will continue until time of funeral services.
