Jay Brown, 63, Columbia, KY (1961-2024) Jay Edwin Brown of Columbia passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was 63 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro Elbert Hadley officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday after 9amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born on February 27, 1961, in New Castle, IN to the late J. H. Brown and Alice Marie Sneed Murphy. Mr. Brown was of the Christian faith and formerly worked for Walmart. He enjoyed listening to music, riding the countryside, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include by a brother James Brown of Columbia, KY; his stepfather Charles Murphy of Columbia, KY; two stepsons Frankie and Michael Branch; a half brother Andrew Murphy of Glasgow, KY; nieces and nephews Jessica Gose (Justin), Christopher Brown (Allie), Candace Wooten, and Dawn Scroggins (David); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews and friends also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Cathy Eller and his life partner Suzie Branch. Pallbearers will be Christopher Brown, Justin Gose, Odell Wooten, Andrew Murphy, Danny Sneed, and James Murphy. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
