Cora Lee Bolin, 81, Russell County, KY (1942-2024)

Cora Lee Bolin, of Jamestown, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was 81 years of age.

Born on September 25, 1942, in Creelsboro, she was a daughter of the late Rollin, Sr. and Irene Lawless Shearer. Cora Lee was a retired kindergarten aide for the Russell County Board of Education and a member of the Jamestown Church of the Nazarene. She deeply loved her family and being involved in her grandchildren's activities throughout their childhood. Cora Lee loved to travel, especially vacationing at the beach.


Cora Lee is survived by her sons, Barry (and Angela) Bolin of Jamestown, and Jason (and Ann) Bolin of Bowling Green; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn (and Skylar) Stapleton, Kassidy (and Brett) Gibson, Jaci Bolin, Jannah Bolin, Abigail Bolin, Blake Bolin, and Amelia Bolin; her great-grandson, Garner Stapleton; and her sisters, Rema Needels of Virginia, Sue Ann Zimmerman, Brenda (and Mitchell) Higginbotham, and Jennifer Beck, all of Russell Springs.

In addition to her parents, Cora Lee was preceded in death by her husband, William "Jr." Bolin, who passed away on December 17, 2000; her brothers, Rollin Shearer, Jr., and Jack Shearer; and her sisters, Norma Stearns, Naomi Wooldridge, Nadene Wilson, and Debbie Stephens.

Funeral services are 11amCT on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with her son, Jason Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in Jamestown City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 Tuesday, March 26, 2024, and will continue from 8 until time of services on Wednesday.

Blake Bolin, Skylar Stapleton, Brett Gibson, Nick Shearer, Todd Starnes, Ryan Stephens, and Kevin Shearer, will serve as Cora Lee's pallbearers.
