Stanley Russell Garmon, 100, Columbia, KY (1923-2024) Stanley Russell Garmon of Columbia passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY. He was 100 years old. Private graveside services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024, after 5pmCT, and will continue on Friday from 9amCT until 10:30amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. He was born in Columbia, KY on September 29, 1923, to the late Francis M. and Mable Pollard Garmon. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Elizabeth Brockman Garmon. Mr. Garmon was of the Pentecostal faith and was a truck farmer selling produce around the area. He enjoyed crafts, building birdhouses, vegetable gardening, being around people and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include four children Phillip Russell Garmon (Sharon) of Columbia, KY, Joyce Roach Dalton (Ronnie) of Nancy, KY, Sarah Kay Hammond of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Naomi Ann Bruce of Columbia, KY; six grandchildren Renee Kemp, Chris Roach (Monica), Missy Bruce McKalvia (Patrick), Cameron Garmon (Brooke), Daniel Hammond (Tasha), and Josh Bruce (Bethany); eighteen great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; a brother Jerry Garmon (Kathy) of Columbia, KY; a special caregiver Beth Denham and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two siblings Shively Garmon and Dorothy Parks. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
