Earl M. Coffey, 86, Columbia, KY (1937-2024) Earl Morrison Coffey of Columbia passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at his residence. He was 86 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Carroll Egnew and Bro. Don Emerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery, with military honors provided by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be on Saturday after 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born on September 18, 1937, in Montpelier, KY to the late Holland C. and Zelma Morrison Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a member of the former Pleasant Hill Christian Church and most recently attended the Russell Springs Christian Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He was a member of the Adair County Cattlemen's Association and enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Marilyn Sparks Coffey of Montpelier, KY; a son Shannon "Radar" Coffey (Michelle) of Franklin, IN; two grandchildren Alexis Carrillo (Justin) and Sawyer Coffey; a great grandchild Rory Carrillo; four siblings Gene Coffey (Lillie) of Louisville, KY, Carl Coffey (June) of Shepherdsville, KY, Ina Smith of Louisville, KY, and Guinda Miller (Bobby) of Columbus, OH; a sister-in-law Ada Coffey of Columbia, KY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joe Norman Coffey, a sister Shirley Holt and her husband Orvil and a brother-in-law Lowell Smith. Pallbearers will be Jason Coffey, Derek Miller, Gary Smith, Corey Coffey, Tim Antle, and Dustin Ballenger. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
