ACSO: Russell Co. man arrested on multiple charges

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 4:28pmCT, Adair County Deputy Sheriff Josh Durbin received a call of a disturbance from 911. He responded to a residence near the Russell County line off of KY80 East. It was reported that the individual at the residence also had warrants for his arrest.

Upon arrival, the male attempted to elude Deputy Durbin, who quickly caught up with him. A struggle ensued, but the male was taken into custody without injury.


Heath Neccessary, age 42, was transported to and lodged in the Russell County Detention center on charges of:
  • Fleeing and evading police 2nd degree on foot
  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
In addition, Neccessary was served warrants of arrest from Adair and Russell Counties for:
  • Failure to comply with sex offender registration
  • Persistent felony offender
  • Failure to appear 2 counts
The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation.
