LWC Track & Field competes at the Centre Indoor Invite

Danville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's track and field team came out on top in overall team points at the Centre Door Invite on Saturday at the Lisa H. Owens Fieldhouse, and the Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team finished third at the event.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Friday, February 16, 2024, for the Mid-South Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville.


The men's invite featured 16 teams. A quartet of Blue Raiders (Nolan Foushee, Logan Bullock, Marti Molins, and Justin Stearns) obtained 10 points in the 4000 medley relay with a time of 10:18.99.

Freshman Santiago Nunez obtained a point in the one mile run, recording a 4:33.17.

K'ron Sherald came first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.50, obtaining 10 points for Lindsey. In the same event, David Requejo finished fifth with a time of 52.18 and grabbed four points.

A quartet of LWC achieved points in the 600-meter run, Marti Mollins obtained eight, Logan Bullock six points, Daniel Aikas four, and Marcus Abel with two.

Junior, Justin Stearns, obtained six points in the 800-meter run, recording a time of 1:59.95.

In the 200-meter dash event, Royce Mentor obtained third place and clocked a 23.18.

The Blue Raiders claimed first place in the 4x400-meter with Mentor, Requejo, Sherald, and Bullock obtaining 10 points with a mark of 3:26.58.

In the field events, at the long jump event, Rayne Jones-Foster registered a mark of 7.04m to grab first and 10 points. He was followed by 3 teammates to complete the top 4, Justin Borden, Dontae Rucker, and Mark Edmond respectively.

Edmond came second in the high jump event with a mark of 1.90m, and with the same mark fellow Blue Raider Borden completed the podium.

In the triple jump, sophomore Mark Edmond registered a 13.68m mark to win the event. Foster and Harding completed the podium with 13.45m and 13.25m respectively.

The Blue Raiders women tallied 78 points posting the best finish from NAIA teams at the event. Lindsey Wilson recorded two wins and a pair of runner-up finishes.

Ophiellia Bernard took for in the 60-meter dash finishing in 7.83. Kyra Engel also earned team points in the event placing seventh with a time of 8.29.

Nikki Ravelli gave the Blue Raiders their second win of the event in the long jump. Ravelli took first with a jump of 5.37 meters. She also earned team points in the high jump posting an 8th-place finish with a jump of 1.40 meters.

Lindsey Wilson's A relay in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay finished runner-up. The quartet of Olivia Rudder, Alejandra Recarey, Alexandra Solis and Clayra Darnell finished in 13:30.12. Macey Wilson, Alexis Hale, Kaylee Masden and Alyssa Sharp finished fourth with a time of 13:44.94

The Blue Raiders took second and third in the 400 meter. Ta'Shya Cramer finished runner-up with a time of 1:01.12 while Laura Bellido was third finishing in 1:01.32.

Rudder finished fourth in the 600-meter run finishing in 1:46.53 while Bernard was fifth in the 200 with a time of 26.56.

In the 4x400 relay, Alisha Claycomb, Mayatu Brown, Recarey and Bellido finished third in 4:23.08. Rudder, Wilson, Masden and Paula Lopez finished in 4:33.51 to place sixth.

Destiny Barnes finished fourth in both the triple jump and the high jump. Barnes recorded a jump of 10.86 meters in the triple jump and 1.50 meters in the high jump.

Reagan Cheatham finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 11.45 meters. Cheatham finished sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 12.48 meters.
