From what the General Manager of the Campbellsville, KY Amazon facility told me, the drivers are not Amazon associates, nor does Amazon own the semis, but Amazon does own the trailers. Each trailer has a number, and should anyone spot unsafe driving, they can get the number from the trailer and report it.

While coming home from Amazon at night following Amazon Prime trailers, I got the number of a trailer whose driver was in excess of the speed limit (I would not try to keep up after my speedometer hit 70 mph). I reported the trailer numbers to the GM as instructed. He gave me a song that Fred Astaire himself could not have danced to! Needless to say, trucks still drive in excess of speed limits.

I have seen semis with Amazon Prime trailers take Route 80 instead of the parkway (what trucker would opt for Route 80 with its hills, hollers, hairpin curves while dodging deer driving 60 mph at 4:00 AM instead of the parkway?). I also followed one Prime trailer just for kicks and giggles to see where he was going. He took the bypass to the State Police exit, got on the parkway there, instead of the one in front of Wal Mart like the vast majority of Prime drivers headed to Nashville.

Last but not least, one truck pulling an Amazon Prime trailer was just sitting at a green light on the bypass in the middle lane. I beeped my horn and told him "All the other Amazon drivers going to Nashville go that way" as I waved my arm toward 61 South, hoping his GPS would get him back on track.

One would think Amazon would hand them a print out of the "best route to take" so they do not get lost, since so many of them do.

Granted, not all these are traffic violations, but it clear semi drivers pulling Amazon Prime trailers do not know where or what they are going.

However, the destruction of public and private property is an issue. Amazon has a log of what trucks left at what time, so it would not be difficult to find out which trailers came in to their destination damaged.

If Amazon is so concerned about "Safety First" at the FC, why they are not concerned when trailers are not damaged when leaving their facilities, but have apparent damage coming into their next one? Why are they not asking "Why the trailer is damaged in transit, and was anyone injured."

Has the wreck on 55 North been forgotten? Where a woman was rear ended by a semi pulling an Amazon Prime trailer in a construction zone? Her vehicle burst into flames as did the pickup truck in front of her, the driver of the semi had no insurance ( How does that slip by Amazon?) and the driver was on the phone instead of trying to help extricate the woman of her burning vehicle. (I believe the news said she died at the scene.) Has anyone heard of a trial or conviction since? Seems a lot swept under the carpet concerning semis pulling Amazon trailers!

The semi owners and drivers of those pulling Amazon's trailers should then be held accountable for the damage they do to both public and private property. Aren't other independent owner/operators and average citizen that damages property held responsible for restoration? So why are these drivers not being held accountable, or ticketed for reckless unsafe driving?

Other independent truckers would not get away with it, they have to abide by traffic rules and regulations. How many people realize there is a "Truck Route" that goes behind Wal-Mart because semi's are not supposed to use Dohoney Trace unless delivering to one of the businesses out front?

I wonder if an independent driver on that Truck Route damaged the building would the owners of the building be as forgiving as the politicians are in Adair County with drivers pulling Amazon Prime trailers around the courthouse, and why do Amazon Prime drivers get a pass?

If Adair County has had this, many mishaps involving drivers pulling Amazon's trailers how many other towns and counties and states are having the same problem nationwide?
