ACSO: Deer in road on KY 1729 cause injury accident

On Thursday, December 28, 2023, Sheriff Josh Brockman received a call at 5:06amCT of an injury collision on KY1729, 8 miles east of Columbia.

Upon arrival, it was found that Kimberly Curry, 47, of Columbia, and her son, Kalyn Curry, age 7, had been traveling south on KY 1729 in the Sano community. Curry was operating a 2021 Nissan passenger car. Multiple deer crossed the roadway in front of her vehicle, and she struck at least two of them.

Both Curry and her son were treated on scene by Adair County EMS before transportation to TJ Health Columbia.

Sheriff Brockman was assisted on scene by the Adair County Fire Department.
