ACSO: Adair man arrested for possession, resisting arrest

On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 10:59amCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the FairPlay community in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival Deputy Chris Tweedy made contact with a suspect. While being placed under arrest, the man resisted but was taken into custody without injury.


Joey Dykes, 43, of Columbia, was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by Deputy Tweedy on charges of:
  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine
  • Criminal trespass
  • Public intoxication
The Adair County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation.
