Basketball: LWC opens Bethel Classic with 78-53 victory The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team defeated Harris-Stowe State 78-53 on day one of the Bethel Classic Friday at Crisp Arena in McKenzie, TN. The Blue Raiders (9-2) have now won their last five games. Lindsey Wilson shot 50.9 percent from the field while limiting the Hornets (2-4) to just 37.8 percent. This marks the fourth time this season that the Blue Raiders have shot 50 percent or better from the field. Lindsey Wilson also connected on 21-of-26 attempts from the charity stripe. Amelia Hodges scored a season-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting. The 75 percent from the field matched a season-high for Hodges. Lucy Patterson added 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting while Jarie Thomas was also in double figures with 10 points. The Blue Raiders close out the Bethel Classic at NoonCT on Saturday when they face Bellevue (NE). This story was posted on 2023-12-09 09:08:53
