OCC 2023: Edmonton Shoebox Mission boxes delivered

By Kim Harwood, Executive Director,
Edmonton Metcalfe Chamber of Commerce

The Shoebox Mission for Metcalfe County was overseen by Mrs. Carol Perkins again this year. Volunteers spent months sewing, shopping, crafting, hosting fund raisers, and boxing up gift items to get ready for the big day.

November 16th was the day to ship out the boxes. Thanks to the help of five MCHS football players, Byron, Fenton, Tyler, Trigg, and Jake with the guidance of Mark and Denise Glass Fudge 94 shipping cartons of shoeboxes were loaded onto a truck for delivery. The boxes will officially make their way to the next check point.

For the record, the football boys moved 94 cartons full of heavy shoe boxes with ease, and in record time, thank you so much for all your help!

A Shout Out to Carol Perkins, Harold & Peggie McCoy, Anna Jolly, Laurie Butler, Freeda Reece, the local Churches, and all those folks in the county that worked to send over 1,400 shoes boxes to children around the world.

Proof positive that remarkable things are accomplished when we work together!
