Marcella Boston Love, 88, Metcalfe County, KY (1935-2023) Marcella Boston Love, age 88, of Edmonton passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. She graduated from Norton's Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1957. She also graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Health Services. She spent her nursing career in many capacities including office, surgical and bedside nursing. She also taught health careers for several years. She was a member of the Metcalfe County Homemakers, Metcalfe County Garden Club and Retired Teachers. She loved to do handwork and made several beautiful quilts of which she was very proud. She was born May 27, 1935, in the Sulphur Well Community of Metcalfe County, the daughter of Odie and Bertha Gaddie Boston. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her husband, Ardie Lee Love, who she married November 29, 1957, and a son Mark Alan Love. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ruby Dell Estes and Runell Parke. She is survived by 3 daughters, Lisa Love Matthews of Glasgow, Diane Love Scott (Gary) of Glasgow and Martha Love Moore of Lexington. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Alexandria Pennington, Cole Scott (McKinley), Luke Love (Hannah), Sawyer Matthews (Jordyn Turner), Abigail Matthews and Jake Love and 2 great-grandchildren Ripp Scott and Gus Scott. Her brother Lloyd Boston (Frances) also survives along with several nieces and nephews. She also had 2 special caregivers, Suzie Wells and Brenda Pennington. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 10amCT with Bro. Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Metcalfe County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, after 5 and again on Thursday after 8 until the service hour. Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
