Columbia Baptist packs over 1,100 OCC boxes

From Mark Fudge

Columbia Baptist Church began packing OCC shoe boxes approximately 15 years ago. This year for the first time, the church has packed more than 1,100 shoebox gifts.

Senior Pastor Randy Johnson said, "OCC is one of the greatest blessings that our church receives by giving. To be able to send over 1,100 boxes to the ends of the earth is a way to send the hope and love of Jesus to children who need to hear the good news. Our church looks forward to the opportunity to partner with others in our community to let the world know that Jesus loves them"!!

National Collection Week for OCC is November 13-20, 2023. Shoebox gifts in Adair County can be dropped off at the Wheet Fellowship Hall at the Columbia Nazarene Church at 1200 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY (OCC Drop-Off Schedule).

This year the boxes from the Green River Area will be transported to a processing center in Atlanta, Georgia, and then on to one of more than 100 different countries.

Millions of children not only receive the joyful gifts in the box, but more importantly, will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the very first time. Many of these children will receive discipleship training through materials and workbooks written in their own language. The children will also receive Bibles written in their own language.
