Basketball: LWC Women end Cumberland Classic with victory Lebanon, TN - The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team wrapped up the Cumberland Classic with a 75-61 victory over Oakland City on Saturday at Dallas Floyd Arena. Lucy Patterson was one of four Blue Raiders (3-1) in double figures with a game-high 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting while connecting on 8-of-10 attempts from the charity stripe. Amelia Hodges scored 14 points while Taylor Guess chipped in with 13. Janiya Davis was the final Blue Raider in double figures with 10. Patterson grabbed a game-high six rebounds. Trailing 10-6 in the first quarter, Lindsey Wilson scored the next five points to lead 11-10 with under five minutes to play. The Mighty Oaks then retook the lead scoring the next four points. The Blue Raiders then rattled off a 9-0 run to take a 20-14 lead with 1:45 to play in the quarter. Lindsey Wilson led 22-16 after the first quarter. Oakwood opened the second quarter on an 8-2 run tie the game at 24. The Blue Raiders then took a 36-27 lead with 2:41 to play in the half after a 12-3 run. Lindsey Wilson went into the locker room at halftime with a 38-29 lead. Lindsey Wilson led 42-36 before going on a 10-2 run to increase its lead to 52-38 with 4:40 to play in the third quarter. The Mighty Oaks then trimmed the Blue Raider lead to single digits with a 6-0 run. The Blue Raiders scored the final four points of the quarter to increase their lead to 56-44. The Mighty Oaks began the fourth quarter on a 9-4 run to trim the Blue Raiders lead to 60-53 with 7:40 to play. Following a pair of made free throws by Davis, Oakland City scored the next five points to make it 62-58 with 5:03 remaining. Lindsey Wilson closed out the game on a 13-3 run to come away with the 75-61 victory.
