Letter: Cooks at Circle R

Robert Johnson writes:
I would like to thank the organizers of the Trabue Russell House Annual Soup and Sandwich Luncheon for including a picture and name of my mother, Mrs. Doris Johnson, in the display about the Circle R Restaurant.

My mother worked at the restaurant for many years as a cook, and I would like to think that she played a small role in the near legendary status of the great food and service that could be enjoyed at the Circle R. Of course, all of the kids and extended family members knew how awesome her cooking skills were. After all, she received her tutelage as a young girl under the watchful eye of my grandmother, Mrs. Queenia Burton, a legendary cook in her own right, and through the number of restaurants she worked at while raising a family. Thank you.
