Danny Atwood, 72, Casey County, KY (1951-2023) Danny "Touche" Atwood, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. He was 72. He was a brick mason and a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, watching baseball, and going to drag races. Danny was a hard worker. He had a caring heart and was a loving father and grandfather. Born August 8, 1951, in Liberty, KY, he was a son of the late Shirley and Effie Cannon Atwood. Survivors include his sons, Matthew (and Gena) Atwood of Liberty, Brian Atwood of Liberty, Michael (and Jennifer) Barrett of Georgetown, and Barry (and Nancy) Barrett of Lexington; brother, Ronnie (and Janet) Atwood of Liberty; 7 grandchildren, Dawson, Payton, Lilly, Cole, Raegan, Luke, and Laci; and 1 great-grandchild, Aaron. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Atwood. Funeral services will be held at 1pmET Saturday, September 16, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. David Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Tapscott Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Honor Guard. There will be a visitation on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 11 until 1.
