Genealogical Society Textiles Meeting a success

The August meeting of the Adair County Genealogical Society on Monday evening was a success. Thirty-one attended and the presentations were great. Thanks to all those who participated and who graciously shared their items. A few of these will be on display for a short time, so if you were unable to attend, come by and take a look.

Adair Co. Genealogical Society Upcoming Events & Meetings Schedule:
  • September 1: Lanterns & Tombstones Tour of the Columbia Cemetery, 7pmCT
  • September 4: No meeting scheduled on Labor Day
  • September 9: Home Place Fall Festival, Home Place on Hwy 55 N, toward Campbellsville
  • September 9: Revisit Knifley, festival at Knifley
  • September 23: Saturday Session: Beginning Genealogy--all ages, NoonCT to 2pmCT

  • October 9: Silent City Program at Columbia City Cemetery--5pm
  • October 13-14: Downtown Days Festival--Including Family History Tables on Greensburg Street
  • October 13: Tebbs Bend Night Ride at 4pmCT/5pmET, tickets available at Research Center
  • October 21: First Annual Shot, Stabbed, Hanged and More walking tour on the Columbia Public Square, at dusk, presented by Dave Thomas and Mike Watson

  • November 4: Annual Adair County Regional Book Fair
  • November 6: Yearly ACGS Business Meeting and Records Assessment

  • December 4: Christmas Social, specific details forthcoming
