Barbara Ellen Caulk Edwards, 88, Greensburg, KY (1934-2023)

Barbara Ellen Caulk Edwards of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, formerly of Greensburg departed this life on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at her home. She was 88 years old.

The funeral services for Barbara Ellen Caulk Edwards will be conducted at 1pmCT on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Joseph Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is requested after NoonCT on Sunday until time of the funeral service at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.


Barbara Ellen Caulk Edwards, daughter of the late Albert Caulk and Dorothy Overton Caulk, was born on Thursday, August 9, 1934.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who fiercely loved her family. Her sharp words of wisdom and wit will be deeply missed by all.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Mason Edwards on November 30, 2006 having united in marriage on December 21, 1955.

Survivors include three daughters: Lesley Mitchell of South Carolina, Ellen Blakeman of Elizabethtown, Alice Nichols of Bowling Green; six grandchildren: Brooke Ellen Lauer, John Mitchell Jr., Bryce Mason Mitchell all of South Carolina, Brad Lee Nichols of Louisville, Emily Anne Yates of Elizabethtown, Sarah Ellen Brown of Ohio; three great-grandchildren: Elijah Brooks Lauer, Ava Mae Lauer, Clara Madeline Lauer all of South Carolina; two brothers: Russell Albert Caulk, Lowell Ingram Caulk both of North Carolina; two sisters: Joan Loy of California, Patricia Foster of Mount Washington.

She was also preceded in death by one sister: Wanda McHargue; a brother-in-law: Noah "Ed" Loy; and son-in-law: John Mitchell.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, which can be made at the funeral home.
