Art, music graduates recognized in CU ceremony By Emily Roberts, student news writer, Office of University Communications "We are glad that we can recognize all of our students as they finish their degrees," Dr. Tony Cuna, dean of the School of Music and chair of the Department of Art and Design at Campbellsville University, said at the School of Music and Department of Art and Design's pinning and hooding May ceremony. "Thank you for entrusting your daughter, your son, your grandson, your granddaughter, or your family member to Campbellsville University," Cuna said. "It has been a delight to have them for the years they have spent with us." Dr. Jamie Killion, associate professor of music (voice) at Campbellsville University, read the names of the graduates recognized. Graduates who were hooded received their hoods from Cunha. Dr. Denis Santos, associate professor of music, concluded the ceremony by praying over the graduates. "As we close the ceremony tonight, I ask to bless each graduate," Santos said. "I pray for their future, lord, for their goals, and for their dreams. I pray that they will be a blessing wherever they go." Graduates who were pinned, with their degree listed, include Nathaniel Hunt of Lebanon, Ky., Bachelor of Science in Art; Lauryn Martin of Independence, Ky., Bachelor of Science in Art, Branson McKnight of Magnolia, Ky., Bachelor of Science in Art; and Ashlyn Summers of Eubank, Ky., Bachelor of Science in Art Education (P-12);Group Katelyn Claunch of Somerset, Ky.; Reagan Schatz of Louisville, Ky.; Bryce Willis of Campbellsville, Ky.; and Hannah Yadon of Campbellsville, Ky., were also pinned. Each graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Graduates who were hooded include Hannah Amburgey of Campbellsville, Ky., Artist Diploma, Jordan Amburgey of Campbellsville, Ky., Master of Music in Instrumental Performance and Pedagogy; Jeffery Cloyd of Hodgenville, Ky. Master of Music in Instrumental Performance; Dorothy Crocker of Goldsboro, N.C., Master of Music in Music Education; Reagan Davidson of Paducah, Ky., Master of Arts in Music Worship; Charles Drury of Campbellsville, Ky., Master of Music in Instrumental Performance; Joshua Hopper of Menomonie, Wis., Master of Music in Music Education, Camila Moreira of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy; Luis Pro Villamonte of Arequipa, Peru, Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy; and Elizabeth Tedesco of Mahopac, N.Y., Master of Music in Music Education. Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university that offers over 100 programs of study including doctoral, masters, bachelors, associate and certification programs.
