Phillip Coffey - Substitute Teacher Detention Center Glow by Phillip Coffey There was a meeting of the mimes-once But nobody knew or even heard tell of it. Their fancy hand flay motions and leg kicks Back and forth-both high and low-with tapped Unheard foot work. Their smile detached from everywhere and everyone As though they be in a Detention Center Glow. But there I sat with all the commotion in the air At my backward notion-taking notes of all the commencing. They did excel as I have been told but never really knew Or heard or felt ever any pain, sadness or other emotion. Nearly combative-soon shared my much experienced spill Shortly before they began escaping out the raised windows. As I arose from my esteemed chosen seat with minor pangs. An attached sharpened tack in my rear end-splintered. All of this occurred in my experience of Teacher-Substitute. This story was posted on 2023-05-21 11:06:22
