Tennis: LWC Women end season with 4-3 loss Mobile, AL - The No. 12-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team fell to No. 5 seed Ave Maria in the second round of the NAIA Championship on Wednesday at the Mobile Tennis Center. The Blue Raiders finished their season with a 15-7 overall record. Heyka Rodriguez and Mayra Gisone defeated Abigail Rich and Aethielle Kelkboom 6-2 at No. 3 doubles. Ave Maria would answer winning the next two doubles matches to take the point. Anastasiia Invanchenko and Parisa Rachdanone fell 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. The Gyrenes clinched the doubles point when Andrea Rodriguez Oria and Regina Ruiz defeated Darija Maldenovic and Reshma Challarapu 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Ave Maria took a 2-0 lead in the match after Vitoria Barandas defeated Salome Sposetti 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Challarapu fell in straight sets at No. 1 singles as the Blue Raiders trailed 3-0 in the match. Lindsey Wilson would storm back winning the next three points to tie the match. Gisone defeated Kelkboom 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 singles. Ivanchenko picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Nicole Koop at No. 5 singles. Rachdanone tied the match with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory against Ruiz at No. 4 singles to tie the match. In the deciding match, Mladenovic battled Rodriguez Oria at No. 2 singles.
