FBLA students heading for nationals

By JR Thompson - teacher, adviser

Adair County FBLA had the tremendous opportunity to represent our district at the State Convention this week in Louisville. 47 students competed and all did an amazing job representing our school and district.

We have several students who won state awards and will advance forward to represent Adair County and Kentucky at the National Convention this June in Atlanta, Georgia (pending Board of Education Approval).

1st place: Adair FBLA, Largest Chapter Growth

1st Place: Jack Fishback, State Talent Show winner.

2nd Place: Bailey Watts, Business Communications.

4th Place: Natalie Grace Gilbert, Publication Design.

5th Place: Braylon Breeze, Public Service Announcement.

We had many who advanced to the prelims and the final round and that is a HUGE accomplishment. We competed against thousands of amazing (best of the best) students from all across the Commonwealth and to say I am proud, is an understatement. KY is filled with talent from every district from Paducah to Pikeville and everywhere in between.

Everywhere we went, I heard, "your students are the most respectful students we've ever served!" Good job to Adair County for raising the BEST future leaders...we have so much to be proud of here in AC!

A special thank you to our incredible principal, Mr. Chad Parnell, administration - Mr. Darnell and Mr. Trent Hadley, Mrs. Robin Cheatham Loy, Mrs. Teresa Giles, our Superintendent, Dr. Pamela Stephens, our incredible Board of Education members, the outstanding faculty and staff at Adair County High School, my family for allowing me to do what I feel called to do by being a teacher and adviser, and Kentucky FBLA (especially Ms. Connie Holbrook Witt and our Execitive Board).

Lastly, thank you to every parent for entrusting me with your children. It's my greatest honor to be their teacher and adviser.

Great things happen in Adair! #RollTribe
