Tennis: LWC Men and Women earn National Tournament berths

On Tuesday afternoon, May 2, 2023, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that the Lindsey Wilson men's and women's tennis teams have qualified for the 2023 NAIA National Championships in Mobile, AL.

The tournament will be held at the Mobile Tennis Center for the 19th consecutive year, and with this year's bids, the Blue Raider men will be making their 20th all-time appearance while the women earn their 18th ticket.

The Blue Raider women garner one of the 15 automatic berths of the women's bracket thanks to their triumphant performance in the 2023 Mid-South Conference tournament. The men, on the other hand, collected one of the nine at-large bids.

University of the Cumberlands is the only other Mid-South institution to qualify for the national tournament on both the men's and women's sides. Meanwhile, the Cumberland University men picked up an at-large nod to wrap up the conference's representatives.

The first round of the national championships is slated to take place on May 16 in Mobile. Opponents for that round are set to be released closer to the tournament.
