Tennis: LWC Women capture MSC Tournament title Bowling Green, KY - The No. 2 seed Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team captured the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Tournament title with a 4-2 victory over top-seeded Cumberlands Sunday at the Warren County Tennis and Sports Facility. The Blue Raiders capture their 17th tournament championship and first since 2021. The Blue Raiders earned the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA Tournament which begins on May 16 in Mobile, Alabama. Mayra Gisone and Heyka Rodriguez defeated Cumberlands' Catherine Rae and Laura Prieto 6-4 at No. 3 doubles. Cumberlands then won No. 2 doubles when Marina Nagai and Fan Shiau defeated Reshma Challarapu and Darijia Mladenovic 6-4. Lindsey Wilson clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (14-12) victory at No. 1 doubles from Anatasia Ivanchenko and Parisa Rachdanone who defeated Meiri Okuwaki and Mikaela Fros. Fros evened the match when she defeated Rodriguez 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Ivanchenko put the Blue Raiders back in front with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Shiau at No. 4 singles. Mladenovic increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-1 with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) victory over Prieto (No. 44 in the ITA) at No. 2 singles. Mariana Nagai made it 3-2 with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Salome Sposetti at No. 3 singles. Lindsey Wilson clinched the championship with a 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 victory from Gisone at No. 6 singles.
