CPD: Theft investigation leads to drug arrest

The Columbia Police Department responded to a reported theft on Scott Street on Monday night, April 3. Officers located a male individual at the former Dreamland Motel on Burksville Street and recovered some of the items that had been reported as stolen on Scott Street.

The male subject was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and heroin.


Jeffrey Wright, 49, who has a listed residence from Campbellsville, was placed into custody and has been charged with receiving stolen property as well as one count each possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance heroin. Wright was additionally found to have two active warrants out of Russell County.

Officer Trevor Foster was the investigating Officer. He was assisted by Sgt Drew Conn.
