Floyd Thompson, 79, formerly of Taylor County, KY

Floyd C. Thompson, 79, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of Marvin Thompson and Ruth Hash, was born June 14, 1943, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, and departed this life on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Gallatin, Tennessee.

He served in the United States Military. He worked for the Campbellsville Police Department, and he later retired from Verizon as a Warehouse Maintenance Technician. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching westerns, and swinging on the porch.



He professed faith in Christ and attended The Nashville Church.

Floyd united in marriage to Paulette Sapp on September 29th, 1962, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by:

One son: Terry Thompson and wife, Rhonda, of Hendersonville, Tennessee.

One daughter: Paula Rash and husband, Jesse, of Campbellsville.

Three grandchildren: Jessika Brock and husband, Mackenzie, of Campbellsville; Patrik Thompson and Kady Thompson, both of Hendersonville, TN.

One great-granddaughter: Abigail Smith of Campbellsville.

One brother: Donnie Thompson and wife, Stella, of Campbellsville.

Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by:

One brother: James Thompson.

Five sisters: Pauline Hedgespeth, Opal Miller, Judy Shuffett, Ann Strader, and Wanda Zane Thompson.

Funeral: Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 2pmET at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville. Visitation: Tuesday from 10-2.
