Golf: LWC Men lead after round one of Blue Raider Invitational

The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team sits atop the leaderboard after the first round of the Blue Raider Invitational Monday at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.

The Blue Raiders carded a 14-under par 270 on the par-71 6,598 yard course. Lindsey Wilson's 14-under par is the third-lowest round they have shot this season. Lawrence Tech (Mich) sits 12 shots behind while Cumberland (TN) is in third with a 285.


Lindsey Wilson has seven golfers in the top-10 on the individual leaderboard. Callum Waugh leads after shooting a 6-under par 65. Waugh carded six birdies in the round which is tied for the most in the tournament. Janik Hawlitzky and Rio Saigal sit tied for third after carding a 68 in the round. Saigal was one of three golfers to record an eagle in the round.

Sebastian Sandin and Ivan Ninkovic are tied for sixth after shooting a 69. Frederik Strand and Alfie Yearsley who are competing as individuals are also tied for sixth.

Evan Kidd (70), Linus Doverfors (71), Shane Henderson (73), AJ Shagool (74), Briley Sharpe (75), Adam Rogers (85), Jarrett Napier (86) and Chase Carpenter (95) are also competing as individuals.

The final round of the Blue Raider Invitational begins Tuesday at 11amCT at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
