Trio named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes For 2023

Three student-athlete members of the Lindsey Wilson cheer team have been named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2023 season, national officials announced on Wednesday afternoon:
  • Athena Coman, sophomore from Columbia
  • Haley Garmon, sophomore from Glasgow
  • Emma Hyer, junior from Columbus, IN
In total, 217 scholar-athletes were named this season. Fellow Mid-South Conference institution Georgetown College (KY) led the country with nine selections. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
