Wilma Jean Coomer, 90, Adair Co., KY (1932-2023)

Wilma Jean Coomer, formerly of the Morris Chapel community, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at TJ Health/Columbia. She was 90 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Danny Wayne Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Morris Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 4pmCT on Friday.

She was born October 18, 1932, in Adair County, to the late William J. and Patry Parnell Coomer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maxie Coomer, a daughter, Phyllis Faye Coomer and a sister, Louise Meadows. She retired from Fruit of the Loom and was a member of Morris Chapel Church.

Survivors include:
  • Three daughters - Tina Runell Coomer of Columbia, Connie Sue Shirley (Rondal) of Edmonton and Donna Gail Coomer of Edmonton
  • Nine grandchildren - Melissa Ervin (Marty), Tony Shirley (Bridget), Kenneth Shirley (Julie) all of Edmonton, Thomas Shirley (Kara) of Millerstown, Michelle Bradshaw (Alan) of Russell Springs, Jeremy Coomer (Jennifer) of Columbia, Maria Shirley, Alma Shirley and Iliana Shirley all of Edmonton
  • 19 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great grandchildren, several other relatives and friends
