Martha Reece, 67, Edmonton, KY (1955-2023) Martha Jean Reece of Edmonton passed away on Sunday, February 26,2023 at Signature Healthcare of Horse Cave. She was 67 years old. The memorial service will be held at 3:30pmCT on Friday, March 3,2023 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East St., Edmonton, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 10amCT on Friday until time of service. Born October 26, 1955 to the late John Albert Wilson and Lydia Ricketts Wilson. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a infant son Dennis Earl Wilson, four sisters Helen Lawson, Lisa Harris, Susie Wilson and Daisy Wilson. Five brothers Buddy Wilson, Jessie Wilson, William Wilson, John Wilson Sr. and James Wilson. Martha (aka) Jeannie and memaw was a kind, giving woman with a heart of gold. If she wasn't working, she was in the kitchen cooking up a storm and delivering it to everyone. She loved to get dressed up. She loved socializing, shopping ,going to bingo and opening up those pull tabs. Most of all she loved being with her kids and grandkids. They were the light of her life as she was theirs. She grew up hard and had more than her fair share of struggles but she always overcame and never let it change her heart. She left a mark on all who knew her. She was the epitome of the strength and love. She will be terribly missed. She is survived by her children April Simpson of Knob Lick and Arthur Lee Lawless Jr. of Edmonton. Two grandchildren Haley Simpson of Edmonton and Erica Simpson of Knob Lick. Sisters Catherine Curtis and Mary Whitten both of Louisville. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
