Sen. Wise recognized by Kentucky League of Cities

From Michele Hill

Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) presented Senator Max Wise (R-Campbellsville) with a 2022 "Friend of Kentucky Cities" award for carrying House Bill 453 to final passage in the Senate.

"House Bill 453 will help protect public resources while maintaining transparency, which is a top priority for city officials," KLC Director of Public Affairs Bryanna L. Carroll remarked. "The bill allows local governments to protect tax dollars involved in contract bids and clarifies rules for video teleconference meetings to ensure the public stays informed and connected. We appreciate Senator Wise's support on this and other measures that help city officials operate efficient and successful governments."

KLC Executive Director|CEO James D. Chaney thanked Senator Wise for his ongoing support. "We can always count on Senator Wise to champion legislation that benefits cities in his district and across the state," he said. "We are honored to recognize him with this award and look forward to continued discussions throughout the 2023 session on bills that help cities and Kentucky succeed."

"As the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Economics, Development, Tourism, and Labor, I'm honored to accept this recognition from the Kentucky League of Cities," responded Senator Wise. "The partnership between our legislature and KLC is longstanding, and we both remain committed to creating an environment great for business and our growing workforce."

Founded in 1927, the Kentucky League of Cities is a membership association of more than 370 cities across the commonwealth. KLC gives a "Friend of Kentucky Cities" award to legislators who perform outstanding work advocating for issues that impact cities across the state.
