IMAGINE! Youth Theatre returns this summer TheatreFest!, the Summer Theatre at Lindsey Wilson College, will hold a day camp known as IMAGINE! Youth Theatre starting Monday, June 5, through Friday, July 14, 2023. The camp will culminate in a performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella: Youth Edition, the classic musical from musical theatre's most famous duo. This year's camp is offered completely free of charge for all students thanks to generous donations. "Bringing the camp back last year was a whirlwind experience," says Associate Artistic Director Jeremy Cloyd. "Getting to be onstage with these students was one of the best moments I've had in theatre. They pushed me, laughed with me, and we all grew together." IMAGINE! Youth Theatre will produce Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella: Youth Edition, a 60-minute edition of the timeless, magical fairy tale with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm, and elegance. This edition of the play, which originally premiered on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, retains all of the beloved songs and characters while condensing the script to make it more accessible to young performers and audiences. Performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella: Youth Edition will take place July 14 & 15 at 7:00pmCT and July 16 at 2:00pmCT in V.P. Henry Auditorium, located inside the L.R. McDonald Administration Building on the Campus of Lindsey Wilson College. "IMAGINE! Youth Theatre has been one of the most important things TheatreFest! has done" says Artistic Director Robert Brock. "Allowing a space for students to participate in and experience theatre firsthand is at the core of what TheatreFest! believes in." IMAGINE! Youth Theatre will run Monday, June 5 - Friday, July 14, 8amCT to NoonCT in V.P Henry Auditorium meeting each week Monday - Friday mornings. The camp is open to students ages 8-18 and is completely free for all students.
