Dr. Darryl Scott Dillery, 61, Campbellsville, KY (1961-2023)

Dr. Darryl Scott Dillery of Campbellsville, formerly of Albion, Michigan, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at his home. He was 61 years old.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pmET on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Campbellsville First United Methodist Church, 317 E. Main St., Campbellsville, KY.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, February 26, from 1pmET until time for the service.

He was born on May 4, 1961 to Dean George and the late Martha Jean (Adams) Dillery. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville First United Methodist Church. "Dr. D", as he was affectionately known, was an educator by trade; he had earned doctorate from the University of Kentucky and was currently employed as a math professor at Lindsey Wilson College. He had also served as a visiting professor at the Air Force Academy. He valued the relationships he forged with his all of students, and was a lifelong encouragement to many of them in return. He was a proud supporter of the Lindsey Wilson Swim Team, an avid canoer, and widely recognized by his beloved and brightly colored shirts.

He leaves to cherish his memory:
  • His spouse: Susan Beth Dillery,
  • His father: Dean George Dillery of Battle Creek, Michigan,
  • Three children: Megan Dillery Duff and husband Stephen of Lexington, Laura Christine Dillery of Campbellsville, and Melissa Grace Darnell and husband Colin of Louisville,
  • Three siblings: Kirk Dillery and wife Robin of Battle Creek, Michigan, Daniel Dillery and wife Barbara of West Melbourne, Florida, and Leslie Shaw of Michigan,
  • Three grandchildren: Andrew Scott Perkins, Edison Duff, and Oscar Duff,
  • And a host of extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River.

L.R. Petty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.lrpetty.com.
